Setting up HotSpotzz on your computer is simple. In fact, on newer PCs with Windows XP or Macintoshes with OSX, little or no configuration is required. Typically, three things need to be checked on your computer: SSID, Security, and Channel. Then, open up a web browser such as Internet Explorer and login with your username with one of three endings attached:  @HotSpotzz.com, @HotSpotzz, or hotspotzz.com. Click here to find out what ending you should be using.

Windows 95, 98, and ME do not have wireless compatibility built-in. You will need to use the Configuration program that came with your wireless card to configure your computer.

Note: There are myriad wireless cards available and multiple software versions for each card. We've provided screenshots for the most common cards below; however, for the rest, you may need to look around within the configuration program to find the 3 key settings: SSID (or Network Name), Encryption (and Security), and Channel.

  1. Open the configuration program that came with your Wireless Card. You may find it in the System Tray (by the clock) or in Start -> Programs.
  2. Set the SSID or Network Name to HotSpotzz
  3. By default, the following settings are already correct on most cards:
    1. Security and/or Encryption are NOT enabled
    2. Channel is set to 1
  4. After making changes, you may need to remove and reinsert your Laptop's Wireless Card.
  5. The Linksys and D-Link cards are the most common.  Click a link below for possible help.
