Purchasing A WLAN Card
Many businesses now have wireless LANs, so check with your
Information Technology (IT) department to learn if your employer can supply
you with a card for your laptop or personal digital assistant (PDA).
Notebook PCs from Dell, Compaq, IBM, and Apple are now shipped
with pre-installed cards. Please check with your laptop manufacturer to
determine if 802.11b is installed on your model.
If you do not have a pre-installed wireless LAN card, you
can purchase a Wi-Fi certified 802.11b card from this list of manufacturers.
