Configuring HotSpotzz Settings
The wireless card settings are
labeled differently depending on the card and the version of the driver.
Look for the key words: Channel, Network Type, and SSID. Your card
may add words like "Preferred" in front of these, but the idea is the
same.
To use Windows 2000 to configure your
wireless connection to HotSpotzz, click on Start, then Settings,
then Network and Dial-up Connections.
Right-click your Wireless
connection icon and
click on Properties.
First, check your TCP/IP settings. Click
on Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and then click on the Properties
button.
In order to properly connect to
HotSpotzz, the connection should be set to Obtain an IP address
automatically and Obtain DNS server address automatically.
Once the TCP/IP settings are set for DHCP (server assigned IP and DNS),
click the OK button.
Next, click the Configure
button to configure the Wireless Card.
Choose the Advanced tab to
see the screen below. There are three Properties on the left to be
modified. The wireless card settings are labeled differently depending on
the card and the version of the driver. Look for the key words:
Channel, Network Type, and SSID. Your card may add words like

a) Encryption =
Disabled
b) Network Type = Infrastructure
c) SSID
= HotSpotzz
In the Properties list on the
left, select Encryption (or whatever your card happens to call it).
Then, in the Value at the right, choose Disabled.
In the Properties list on the
left, select Network Type (or whatever your card happens to call it).
Then, in the Value at the right, choose Infrastructure.
In the Properties list on the
left, select SSID (or whatever your card happens to call it).
Then, in the Value at the right, HotSpotzz
should be entered.

View Connection Status:
Click on Start, then Settings,
then Network and Dial-up Connections.
To view the status of the connection, double-click
the Wireless Connection icon.
Use
this screen to view the connection status, the duration of the
connection, and other connection statistics.
IMPORTANT: After making
changes, you may need to remove and reinsert your Laptop's Wireless Card.

Log in to HOTSPOTTZ
To log on to HotSpotzz, open a web browser such as Internet Explorer, Netscape, Opera, Mozilla, etc.
Type your username in the Username
Field. The HOTSPOTTZ login page should appear.
