Configuring HotSpotzz Settings

The wireless card settings are labeled differently depending on the card and the version of the driver.  Look for the key words:  Channel, Network Type, and SSID.  Your card may add words like "Preferred" in front of these, but the idea is the same.

To use Windows 2000 to configure your wireless connection to HotSpotzz, click on Start, then Settings, then Network and Dial-up Connections.

Right-click your Wireless connection icon and click on Properties.

First, check your TCP/IP settings. Click on Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and then click on the Properties button.

In order to properly connect to HotSpotzz, the connection should be set to Obtain an IP address automatically and Obtain DNS server address automatically. Once the TCP/IP settings are set for DHCP (server assigned IP and DNS), click the OK button.

Next, click the Configure button to configure the Wireless Card.

Choose the Advanced tab to see the screen below.  There are three Properties on the left to be modified.  The wireless card settings are labeled differently depending on the card and the version of the driver.  Look for the key words:  Channel, Network Type, and SSID.  Your card may add words like "Preferred" in front of these, but the idea is the same.
