WASATCH BROILER AND GRILL ANNOUNCES FREE
WIRELESS INTERNET EVENT AUGUST 7th & 8th
Date: August 5, 2003
For Release: IMMEDIATE
SALT LAKE CITY, Utah - Wasatch Broiler & Grill, a popular downtown Salt Lake City restaurant, is giving its customers a free taste of HOTSPOTZZ wireless Internet on August 7th and 8th. For two days, Wasatch Broiler's customers will be able to surf the net wirelessly, for free, while having Wasatch Broiler's signature healthy dishes or coffee.
HOTSPOTZZ is holding the free wireless event in order to educate consumers on Wi-Fi technology. Wasatch Broiler's customers can access the HOTSPOTZZ network using complimentary HOTSPOTZZ Internet "scratch cards" containing unique usernames and passwords. HOTSPOTZZ representatives will be on hand during peak times to answer questions and help customers access the HOTSPOTZZ network.
Earlier this year, Wasatch Broiler and Grill partnered with HOTSPOTZZ, one of the nation's largest providers of wireless "hot spots", to offer high-speed wireless access to its net hungry customers. HOTSPOTZZ utilizes 802.11b technology backed by high-speed broadband Internet access to connect customers to the Internet. Customers use Wi-Fi-enabled laptops and other mobile devices to connect to the Internet anywhere within the coverage area of the access point.
"The purpose of the free Wi-Fi event is to educate customers on Wi-Fi technology and help them connect wirelessly," said Henry Smith, HOTSPOTZZ CEO.
The fee for using Wasatch Broiler's HOTSPOTZZ varies between different plans: from $2.95 for a one-hour scratch card to a pay-as-you-go service to $19.95 per month for unlimited wireless Internet plus dial-up. In addition, Wasatch Broiler is offering a free meal up to $10 for anyone
who signs up for the HOTSPOTZZ Mobile Internet Value Pack ($19.95/month for unlimited Wi-Fi plus dial-up) by August 31st.
The Wi-Fi market is rapidly expanding and becoming mainstream. According to Gartner, Inc., consumers and businesses are expected to spend $1.7 billion on Wi-Fi equipment. By 2006, there are expected to be 89,000 public Wi-Fi network access points and more than 99 million Wi-Fi users worldwide.
