REGATTA POINTE® CONNECTS CONDOMINIUM RESIDENTS WITH HOTSPOTZZ HIGH-SPEED WIRELESS INTERNET ACCESS
Date: June 13, 2003
For Release: IMMEDIATE

PHOENIX, Arizona (June 13,2003) — Multicom, Inc. has partnered with HOTSPOTZZ to offer high-speed wireless Internet services to residents of Regatta Pointe®, a new luxury condominium community at Tempe Town Lake. HOTSPOTZZ Wi-Fi access will be available throughout the 136 one- and two-bedroom condominium homes, giving residents a cost effective, high-speed, mobile Internet connection.

HOTSPOTZZ, based in Salt Lake City, is one of the nation’s largest private providers of wireless "hot spots". HOTSPOTZZ Wi-Fi utilizes 802.11b technology backed by high-speed broadband Internet access to connect customers to the Internet. Utilizing Colubris networks, customers hook up via Wi-Fi-enabled laptops and other mobile devices to connect to the Internet anywhere within the coverage area of a HOTSPOTZZ-enabled location (about 300 feet).

Phoenix-based Multicom, Inc. is a Value Added Reseller (VAR) for HOTSPOTZZ and provides Wi-Fi wireless products for 802.11b projects, especially for multi-housing communities. (Karen Perkins and Tim Tuntland are the project leaders for Regatta Pointe® and can be reached at 602-244-1100.)

"Regatta Pointe® is a perfect place to launch high-speed Wi-Fi Internet," said Henry Smith, HOTSPOTZZ President. "Their residents are tech-savvy and will appreciate being able to connect with the convenience of high-speed wireless Internet. Not only will they be able to use their desktop computers anywhere within their home, but they’ll be able to use their laptop computer at the pool or almost anywhere else within the development."

The HOTSPOTZZ high-speed wireless service is available to residents for a very moderate fee of $19.95 a month for unlimited access. HOTSPOTZZ is a high value, low cost service for residents to enjoy.

"We are thrilled that our residents will have the latest technology with wireless Internet access," said Andy Miller, President of the homeowners association. "For communities that want to obtain cost effective, high-speed Internet for their residents, but don't want to incur the high cost of deployment that a wired Internet service requires, HOTSPOTZZ is the perfect solution."

The Wi-Fi market is rapidly expanding and becoming mainstream. According to Gartner, consumers and businesses are expected to spend $1.7 billion on Wi-Fi equipment. By 2006, there are expected to be 89,000 public Wi-Fi network access points and more than 99 million Wi-Fi users worldwide, Gartner says.
